“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” – Luke 9.38 (NIV)
Why do we give?
In order to sustain our worship and ministry for people of all ages, we rely on the generous contribution of time, talents and money from all those who are part of the church.
Our mission partners, clergy, youth work and buildings would not be able to operate without your generous support.
We believe that giving is joyful, recognising what God has given us, and using those gifts to bless others.
As a benefice we get no national or local government financial support and are responsible for meeting all our costs.
Where does my donation go?
A proportion of your donation is set aside for helping our mission partners abroad, and to support our ministry team in carrying out pastoral care in our own community, including youth work.
We give a proportion to support churches and outreach projects across the region, through our Parish Share. Each parish gives what it can, so that those who have more can help those who have less. It goes towards the costs of clergy and those in training, as well as vital support roles, such as safeguarding.
Your donation helps us maintain and operate our ancient Grade 1 listed churches and churchyards.
Parish Giving Scheme. Regular giving made easy.
Many of our congregation make a regular gift, and this is a big help in planning our budgets, whilst also making it easier for you.
The Parish Giving Scheme helps you make a regular commitment to giving, and allows for optional annual adjustments in line with inflation.

Pray
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
To pray is to make our hearts ready to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Praying regularly will help us to develop a spiritual rhythm. A discipline of prayer changes the way that we think about our lives, because it creates new habits of heart and mind.
Prayer opens us more deeply to the transforming grace of God. We enter into God’s presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to pray in us.
We publish a monthly prayer diary, with daily suggestions for prayers, for those in our benefice and beyond. Contact our ministry team if you would like to receive a copy by email.
We recommend the following apps to support your prayer life. These can be found at Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Try the official daily prayer app for the church of England.
Pray as you go offers a short bible reading and reflection each day.
Lectio 365 offers resources for daily morning and evening prayer.
